This is Week 34 of The 52 Project. This photograph is of one of my g’daughter, D. She is visiting for the day. After playing for a while she goes to the window, kneels, and settles down to watch. What is she doing? Is she studying something that has caught her attention, simply admiring the view, or is she patiently awaiting the arrival of someone? Only she knows.

Where the Sidewalk Ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we’ll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we’ll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends. ~ Shel Silverstein
Happy Friday!
For most, the end of the week is here and you are counting the hours until the end of the day. There is no doubt that it’s time for fun, relaxation or both, but I wanted to leave you with this quote. Although there are two versions of the quote, both make the same point. As you go about your weekend, remember this:
“Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.” ~ Maya Angelou
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” ~ Maya Angelou
Both of you will feel better.
Belated Quote Tuesday
Yesterday, I was ill with a summer cold and allowed "Quote Tuesday" to slip on by. Today, I am making up for that.
“Courage doesn’t always roar.
Sometimes courage is the little voice
at the end of the day that says
I’ll try again tomorrow.” ~ Mary Anne Radmacher
