Pink skies, luck & Summer time

Pink skies, luck & Summer time
I’ve realized that it has been much too long since I created one of my Polyvore digital collages, bad, bad Lydia. If you are new to Polyvore, you can read about it in this post. Anyway, I had a little down time today and headed to Polyvore to create something worthy of my amazing readership. This collages reminds me of Summer time filled with carnivals, beautiful sunsets, hand fans to stave away the heat, butterflies, delectable ice cream cones, the proper hat and more. I hope that it evokes in you, your own version of Summer time filled with the things that you cherish and love about the season. Happy Summer! Go out there and live it!

Golden Contrast

Golden Contrast, by LKW created on Polyvore 5.2.14

Happy Friday. I am feeling under the weather so I decided to play around with Polyvore and to create a collage. I love creating these collages as it helps me learn color combinations for my mixed media work.

Anyway, you may be wondering about the significance of the numbers 4 and 5. I included them in the collage because they keep cropping up everywhere. Now, this may sound woo-woo to some, but having been born and bred Catholic, I believe in angels and in their presence among us, so I ask that you indulge me.

In the book “Angel Numbers” by Doreen Virtue, she lists the various meaning of each number from 00-999. She attributes the following meaning to each number. Number 4 means “Angels are with you. Call upon them for help, guidance, and feelings of love and security.” The number 5 means “This number relates to change, transformation, transmutation, and alchemy. Something in your life is changing, or about to change, for the better.” Now whether you believe in them or not, I find the thought comforting that there are beings waiting in the wings (no pun intended) to guide me as I travel this journey called life. Yet, I have enormous repeat for those who do not share my beliefs, because that is what makes life interesting–the amazing differences between us. Now, go out there and have a stupendous weekend!

Earthy Browns & Greens

Earthy Brown & Green

On this beautiful Spring day, I see the ubiquitous color green, in the abundant plants and trees all around me, as well as, the rich brown of the soil that feeds and nourishes the plants that produce the food that we eat and the beautiful flowers that we enjoy. Brown is a predominant color on the planet, along with green. Brown is comforting and stabilizing, while green is balancing and rejuvenating, just what we all need to help us deal with the stresses of modern life. What a meaningful color combination.

*Remember to check out Polyvore to create collages and sets of your own.
