Week 29, The 52 Project

brookstree

I have just returned home after almost a month in California and I barely know which date it is, let alone the week. After looking, it looks as though it is week 29 of The 52 Project. It seemed that my brain was addled because it seems that I never posted the photo for week 28. I am sorry about that.

Anyway, above is a photo of the little guy with whom I spent most of my time. He is an active 3 years old boy who loves to climb–on anything and everything. I spent most of the trip afraid that he would break fall and break his neck, but he is agile and moves like Spider Man.

If You Forget Me

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine. ~ Pablo Neruda

“The adventure of life is to learn. The purpose of life is to grow. The nature of life is to change. The challenge of life is to overcome. The essence of life is to care. The opportunity of life is to serve. The secret of life is to dare. The spice of life is to befriend. The beauty of life is to give.” ~ William Arthur Ward

Angel Awareness Day

Angel Awareness Day (Photo credit: AlicePopkorn)

“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become….The greatest achievement was at first and for a time, a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” ~ James Allen, As A Man Thinketh
