“No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.” ~ Amelia Earhart

Week 14, The 52 Project
This is Week 14 of The 52 Project and this little guy is one of my two favorite boys in the world, my g’son, B. He is a blessing from my oldest daughter, B. and her husband K. They live in LA in a cool house with a big backyard that includes lemon and mandarin trees. Given LA’s temperate weather, there is fruit on the tree most of the year, and B. loves to pick his own mandarins to eat. In this photograph, he is taking a break from his task to stand for a photo. For some reason, it reminds me of a painting.
A Thought For Your Day
“Studies show that recalling happy times helps boost happiness in the present. When people reminisce, they focus on positive memories, with the result that recalling the past amplifies the positive and minimizes the negative. However, because people remember events better when they fit with their present mood, happy people remember happy events better, and depressed people remember sad events better. Depressed people have as many nice experiences as other people–they just don’t recall them as well.” ~ Gretchen Rubin, The Happiness Project

I got the idea for this Polyvore set, from of all places, Home Depot. This weekend, my 7-year-old granddaughter and I headed to Home Depot with one purpose in mind — to buy a new hammock. We found one. Instead of leaving, she insisted on playing with paint color strips, which I love to do for color inspiration in my burgeoning mixed media work.
