Instead of allowing myself to dwell on the “what ifs” concerning my most recent health issues, I’ve decided to dwell on the beauty of my youngest g’daughter to change these cloying negative thoughts into positive. You see, I have two beautiful g’daughters, as much as I like to have both of them here, for now, only the youngest lives nearby. For me, it only takes a smile or a hug from D., to guarantee a change of focus, and where there once were frowns there are smiles. With her magic, I don’t need affirmations. When Things Fall Apart
Mama Chia stopped again and looked at me, “In the darkest, most chaotic times–when things fall apart–such times often mark quickening as your mind readies itself to make a leap. When you feel like you’re going nowhere, stagnating, even slipping backward–your soul is only backing up to get a running start.” ~Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior, Dan Millman
I can identify with this quote. I’ve been there. Actually, I am in one of those periods as we speak. Who hasn’t been? During those times, when one thing after another goes awry, it seems like we’ve been cursed (or perhaps that’s just if you are New Orleans born and bred). We stress, fret, and agonize, wondering when the next shoe will drop, knowing that we are making the situation worse, but helpless to stop. What a relief to know that there may be a reason for this madness, that it may serve a purpose, but in the end, the quote is just a reminder of what we already know, this too shall pass and all will be well.

Me
There is a vitality, a life force, an
energy, a quickening, that is translated
through you into action, and because
there is only one of you in all time,
this expression is unique.
~Martha Graham
Hi there! My name is Lydia Marie Wright (this is my given) and I live in the big state of Texas. New Orleans, Louisiana is actually my home town, but I reluctantly moved away in the 80’s. When I graduated high school the average price of a gallon of unleaded gas was a mere $0.61. http://j.mp/aOBey8 Unbelievable, huh? I can’t believe how I just dated myself! Anyhoo, I live with lovely hubby, my beautiful Mother, and two cats, Charlie Mo and Chevy. I am intensely attached to my three grown children– 1 boy and 2 girls, and in love with my 2 g’daughters.
I am an attorney, but on inactive status because of my health. In spite of all the “bad” lawyer jokes out there, I am a kind, likable person with no horns and I hate snakes. lol. I am quirky as all get out, but who isn’t? I love the color purple, spending time with family and friends, laughter, reading books AND my Kindle, yoga, wind chimes, candles and flowers in general, daisies, my youngest g’daugther’s name. Oh, I forgot to add apple green Jolly Ranchers.
I am a big fan of paying in forward– in doing what little that I can to help make someone else’s life or even day, a little brighter. I have no grandiose plans for this blog. Plain and simple, I’d like this to become positive energy in the face of what can sometimes be a crazy, mixed up world.

Free and Clear
As I mentioned in earlier posts, I am determined to do the things that I’ve put on my “to do one day” list. On June 2, 2010, I went to the ER, believing that I had a slight case of pnuemonia, and came out five days later with a diagnosis of bilateral pulmonary emboli. My “to do” list is now my “today” list and learning photography is on it. I am not going for professional photographer status, in the end, I am only striving to leave my “to do one day” list, free and clear. Blessings, peace, and love to you, lydia marie
