“If you have made mistakes, even serious ones,
there is always another chance for you.
What we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down,
but the staying down.”  ~Mary Pickford

Blessings,
“Men occasionally stumble over the truth,
but most of them pick themselves up
and hurry off as if nothing happened.” ~Winston Churchill

Quote Tuesday

It may be when we no longer know what to do,
we have come to our real work,
and that when we no longer know which way to go,
we have begun our real journey. ~Wendell Berry

Still Practicing

Last year, I expressed my intent to stop procrastinating, and to begin doing some of those things that I’ve always had a longing to try. One of those longings was photography. Now, I never desired to be a professional photographer; no, I simply wanted to know my way around a camera in order to take pictures that I can be proud of. During the latter part of 2010, I unpacked the relatively beginner’s Canon SLR camera that I’d purchased 18 months before, and began the laborious process of learning by doing. At this rate, it’ll be years before I can even claim amateur status, but that’s okay. Although I have scores of photographs that I’d be loathe to show anyone, there are some, like the ones that I used to create the above collage, that make me proud of my efforts. It may not be enough for some, but for me, it makes my heart happy.

My wish for you is that you are doing that which makes your heart happy. If not, what are you waiting for? Blessings.
