“Owning your story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy — the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” ~ Brene Brown

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Although I am not Irish, growing up, I lived in the Irish Channel area of New Orleans. Each year, the St. Patrick’s parade passed mere blocks from our home, and no celebration went unnoticed. So with that in mind, I send the following thoughts to all of my Irish friends:

I wish you health, I wish you well, and happiness galore.
I wish you luck for you and friends; what could I wish you more?
May your joys be as deep as the oceans, your troubles as light as its foam.
And may you find, sweet peace of mind, where ever you may roam. Sláinte!

Week 11/52, The 52 Project

A day at the beach.

This is week 11 of The 52 Project. This week, I have a photo of my g’daughter, D. This past week was Spring Break and her days were filled with adventure. In this photo, she is visiting her grandfather in Galveston, Texas. It is impossible to go to Galveston without heading for the beach and even though the water has yet to warm, D., the little mermaid, can’t resist the lure of the water. In between her frolicking, she graciously stopped her play to flex her muscles for the camera. Yes, she is a ham.

A Sunny Wish

A Sunny Wish

While catching up on overdue lessons in my numerous e-courses, I needed a break and hopped over to Polyvore to create this collage. (For those of you unfamiliar with Polyvore, check out this post.) Today, began with rain that morphed into dreary, overcast skies. This collage represents my wish for the sun to come out of hiding. I love the sunny yellows and I guess that it will have to do until the real thing makes its appearance. I hope that the sun is shining brightly in your little corner of the world.
